This morning we were on our own again so I lifted weights. I also participated in a wrestling demonstration for the NBC Summer challenge to explain the rules and scoring of wrestling.
This afternoon was a very tough practice. We wrestled in groups of three for 36 minutes total, each individual wrestled for 24 minutes. Each person was in for 2 and out for one. We alternated between starting each round on our feet and on the mat. After the wrestling we did some conditioning. Since this was the first day back after a day off it was important to push it hard and really test myself. I definitely got a good burn today.
Tonight I attended the closing ceremony for the NBC Summer Challenge. This event was a great time. Last nights opening, the demos today, and the closing tonight were just awesome. I got to meet some really cool people and hopefully got a few more people excited to watch wrestling in the Olympics and beyond. I thank NBC, the USOC, and especially the USOC Interns, Kelly, Sharon, Jill, Natalie, and others who I may not have met personally, but played an integral part in getting me involved in the event.
Well one day closer to the Games. 52 days...
