August 9th

Today was pretty much that same as the last few days.  I actually got up earlier than I usually do this morning.  I got up at about 9:15.  I ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast, and watched a little tv.  I went to lift around 10:30.  Here at Lehigh, the coaches offices are in the same building as our locker room, weight room and wrestling room.  So when I go to work out, I usually go through the coaches offices.  Today I got to meet and talk to a few of the people that work in the office.  That was nice because it made me feel more at home, which is happening more each day.

After talking with a few people, I went to lift.  I ran into a few guys from the team in the weight room, which is connected to our locker room.  That is real nice, because I can get in to the weight room any time, and I do not have to worry about weight room hours and waiting for someone to let me in if I need to work out.  I felt really good had a pretty good lift today.

When I was done lifting I hung around a talked with a few guys from the team and Pat Santoro, who is the head assistant coach here.  Its nice that the coaches and the athlete can sit around and just hang out.  I believe its important for they athletes and coaches to be close.  It makes things a lot better, and its easier to interact on a personal level versus, "I am the coach, You are the wrestler" way.  I definitely like the fact that I can be a coach and a friend to the guys that I work with, and that is how it is here.

I played golf again today.  I played better than I did yesterday, so I must be getting use to my new clubs.  I did get a birdie today.  I haven't had one of those in a while.  I just hope to be able to make a good showing this weekend and next week.

After golf I came home to relax and make some phone calls, before my afternoon workout.  I went to work out at 5 and then got back here around 6:30.

Didn't do much tonight, I ate talked to some friends on the phone and watched a little tv.  Tomorrow, Kevin Shippos(PSU Heavyweight) is coming to train and then we are heading to State college on Friday.  So that's all for today.
