I got up around 9 this morning. We had practice at 10, so I checked my email and went to practice.
I warmed up and Kevin put me through some drills. After the drills, I wrestled 2 matches with Dominic. I felt good during the matches. After the wrestling I got in a light lift.
That was the only workout scheduled for the day so I went to eat and relaxed in my room for a while.
Tonight is the opening ceremonies. We got dressed for the ceremonies and hung outside of our house for about and hour. People were taking pictures and video. Most of the track athletes were outside of our house. A lot of people were hovering around Marion Jones for pictures.
We headed over to the stadium a little after 7. They put us in the staging area with all of the other countries. People that had been in other Olympics said that this was done very well. Some of the countries were doing cheers and stuff. Anytime the USA would do something, the other countries would whistle, which is like booing in the US. It was still fun though.
We sat in the staging area for about 2 hours. We headed ut to the arena a little after 9. I wanted to try to get on tv so I hung back by the Basketball players. I talked to a few of them, and they were pretty cool. A few of them had their video cameras and were really excited about the ceremonies.
When we hit the arena it was incredible. So many people cheering and excited for the athletes. Words really can't explain the feeling. The program was great and the torch lighting was one of the best things I have ever seen. Overall it was one of the best things I have ever participated in. I am so thankful and blessed for the oportunity to be here.
After the ceremonies we just headed back to the village. I got something to eat and went to bed.
